General

The box labelled B1 contains numerous first-hand, unpublished UFO abduction narratives recorded by researcher Brenda Denzler in the process of her research for a thesis and a book entitled The Lure of the Edge: Scientific passions, religious beliefs and the pursuit of UFOs. These narratives were derived from two surveys conducted by Dr. Denzler using structured questionnaires at the Tampa UFO conference in the Fall of 1966, and at other similar meetings. The survey was administered from 1995 to 1997. There were 275 respondents.

The box labelled B2 contains the remaining files from the Survey of Abductions by Brenda Denzler, which she entrusted to Jacques Vallee for safekeeping after completing her analysis of the data. In an appendix to her book, The Lure of the Edge (Berkeley: U. of California, 2001) she wrote: "To help address (the) lack of information about the UFO community (broadly conceived) I conducted two surveys in the United States (...) Each of the two surveys was designed to capture data from different segments of the UFO community. A long survey was created for abductees only. A short survey was created in order to acquire demographic data and information on attitudes and expectations from the UFO community in general." Also in this box are (1) an interesting brochure entitled Proceedings of the Rocky Mountain Conference on UFO Investigation, a meeting conducted by Dr. Leo Sprinkle in Laramie, Wyoming in May 1980 and (2) a file of newspaper clippings in English about UFO sightings.
