The material was maintained by Watkin's daughter, Ray Watkin Strange, and served as research for the book: William Ward Watkin and The Rice Institute by Patrick James Nicholson (published 1991 by Gulf Pub. Co.). Dates range from 1917-1985, and formats include correspondence, notes, clippings, interviews, brochures, sketches, typescripts, photographs.
