Scope and Contents note
Two letters in this series discuss significant family events. In the letter dated August 23, 1863, Marie Turner informs James Turner of his sister Martha’s death. In the letter to her mother and sister dated October 17, 1864 Marie Turner discusses her husband’s death which occurred earlier that year.
